Good Nature Soap is natural soap made from the finest natural ingredients. We want you to know what you are rubbing all over your body every day so the following is a complete list of the natural ingredients we use to make this exquisite natural soap.
Sodium Hydroxide (Lye): This is probably the most asked about subject. All soap is made with lye, if you don't use lye, you won't have soap. During the process of making soap or saponification, lye and oil combine chemically to produce soap. After the soap is properly cured there is some extra oil but there is no lye left in the soap. There are two different forms of lye that have traditionally been used for soap making; Potassium hydroxide from wood ash and sodium hydroxide. It has been our experience that potassium soaps are much softer than sodium soap so we use the latter. Sodium hydroxide, while not technically a natural ingredient is derived from sodium chloride or ordinary table salt.
Water: We use filtered and sometimes rainwater.
Milk: Some of our soap contains cow or goat milk. Milk has traditionally been used in soap to soften your skin.
OILS We only use oils in their natural state. We do not use hydrogenated oils or trans-fats in our handmade soap.
Olive Oil: Most of our soap contains olive oil. This oil has been known to draw moisture to your skin.
Coconut Oil: Coconut oil is an amazing oil to use in soap. Soap made with coconut oil cleans well and lathers great! It also contributes to hardness which is important if you want soap to last. Coconut oil may also be moisturizing if used in the right proportion.
